Bihar’s Samriddhi Yatra: A Drive for Progress

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has officially launched the Samriddhi Yatra from Bettiah, West Champaran. This strategic initiative serves as a comprehensive governance tour designed to bridge the gap between state leadership and grassroots administration.

Phase One Itinerary

The initial leg of the journey spans from January 16 to January 24, 2026. Over these nine days, the Chief Minister will traverse nine districts, concluding this phase in Vaishali. The mission emphasizes direct engagement with local communities to ensure state policies translate into tangible benefits.

Strategic Objectives

The yatra focuses on four pillars of governance:

  • Performance Review: Auditing the progress of ongoing developmental schemes.
  • Infrastructure Growth: Launching new projects and inaugurating finished works.
  • Accountability: Identifying implementation bottlenecks through direct observation.
  • Citizen Feedback: Encouraging participatory governance by listening to local concerns.

Immediate Impact in West Champaran

On the first day at the Kumarbagh industrial area, the Chief Minister initiated a significant financial boost:

  • New Investments: Laid foundation stones for 125 projects totaling ₹153 crore.
  • Completed Milestones: Inaugurated 36 projects worth ₹29 crore, primarily focusing on industrial expansion and infrastructure.

Ultimately, the Samriddhi Yatra reinforces Bihar’s commitment to balanced regional development and transparent, inclusive governance.
